Bucharest, April 19, 2024\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013 The Romanian Hotel Industry Federation (FIHR) announces that its members \u2013 hotels and affiliated companies \u2013 are welcoming students who wish to work in the hospitality sector, during two days of offline and online activities to provide them with an overview of the field. The initiative, part of the European Year of Skills, takes place on April 19 and 20, in 65 hotels in 23 cities in the country, where approximately 1,800 participants \u2013 students and teachers \u2013 are expected.<\/p>\n Across the country, FIHR members organize presentation visits and practical workshops for students interested in a career in the field, from giving them a foray into the activity of a hotel to presenting trends dictated by technology (AI, VR, chatbots), from introducing specific topics (from design, architecture, marketing, etc.) to interactive demonstrations of skills. Participants are invited by hotel units to follow internships and have the opportunity to subsequently engage in the field.<\/p>\n \u201cIn the context in which we are faced with a real gap between the need for people specialized in the field and the current recruitment possibilities, we consider it our mission to turn to the younger generation in Romania, which is natively open to understanding the term hospitality and the importance of communication and a positive approach, qualities necessary in interacting with guests. By investing in the next generation of professionals through practice, internship and mentoring, we can develop a talented workforce, promote a culture of continuous learning and build the foundations of a successful career in the long term. As the industry continues to evolve, it is more important than ever that operators in the hospitality sector prioritize the development and training of young professionals, ensuring a better future for the tourism sector as a whole. We also open the opportunity for the academic environment to integrate information about trends in the field and practical experience into the teaching method, so that, through a joint mentoring activity, we can make this field attractive to the younger generation.\u201d, declares Simona Constantinescu, president The Romanian Hotel Industry Federation.\u201d<\/p>\n A particular interest is shown by students in grades IX-XII, with over half of the registrations. There is also receptivity from students in grade VIII, as well as students and tutors. In Bucharest, approximately 700 students, students and teachers participate in the sessions organized by over 30 hotels.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
