Hotels across Europe have started to join a pan-European initiative to seek compensation for financial losses caused by Booking.com\u2019s illegal practices, such as \u201cbest price\u201d (parity) clauses. The initiative, supported by HOTREC and over 30 national hotel associations, is open to all eligible hotels \u2013 free of charge and without any risk.<\/p>\n

The deadline has been extended!<\/strong>
\nAfter overwhelming demand from hoteliers across Europe, the registration deadline for the class action against Booking.com has been extended until August 29, 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Fish 10,000 hotels<\/strong> have already joined this pan-European initiative to seek compensation for financial losses caused by Booking.com's illegal parity clauses.<\/p>\n

Why was this period extended?<\/strong>
\nThe extension of the deadline allows even more hotels to sign up, even during the busy summer season. Registrations continue to grow steadily, and the positive response from the hotel industry demonstrates a strong desire to fight unfair practices in the digital marketplace.<\/p>\n

What does this action represent?<\/strong>
\nThe legal action, brought before the Dutch courts by the Hotel Claims Alliance Foundation, follows the CJEU ruling of 19 September 2024, which found that Booking.com's parity clauses infringed European competition law. The aim is to obtain compensation for the hotels financially affected.<\/p>\n
