Following the meeting on July 17, 2023, which took place at the Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Tourism, members of the Tourism Advisory Council (CCT) established according to Order no. 681/2023 on the organization of the CCT were appointed. On this occasion, the priority topics of the tourism industry, known at the ministry level or raised by the employers' and associative organizations present at the event, were debated in the presence of Minister Ștefan Radu Oprea. These referred to the main chapters of interest, namely: the legislative framework, taxation and updating regulations, reducing bureaucracy through digitalization, the strategy for promoting Romania and developing relations with the UATs for the operationalization of OMDs (Destination Management Organizations), as part of the PNRR, the development and support of programs for the professionalization of the workforce through synergies with the education system, the strategy for supporting spa tourism, supporting investments and investors in the field, as well as a more active collaboration with other ministries and state entities, which issue orders and regulatory acts with an impact on the tourism sector, such as the UATs, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Environment, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Culture, etc.
We thank Minister Ștefan Radu Oprea for his involvement and openness in supporting us, together with the ministry's staff, to gradually address and resolve some of these priorities that can lead to sustainable growth of the tourism industry in Romania and an improvement in the image of Romanian tourism.
At the same time, the first organizational meeting of the CCT took place, following which the steering committee was elected, as follows:
1. Simona Constantinescu – President of CCT, representing the Federation of the Romanian Hotel Industry (FIHR)
2. Adrian Costin Voican– Vice President of CCT, representing the Association for the Promotion and Development of Prahova Tourism (APDT-Ph).
3. Dumitru Luca – representing the National Association of Travel Agencies in Romania (ANAT)
4. Nicu Rădulescu – representing the Employers' Organization of Romanian Seaside Tourism (OPTBR)
5. Ștefan Fusea – representing the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania (CCIR)
6. Janssens Guido Joseph Erik – representing the Romanian Association of Concert and Cultural Events Organizers
7. Emanuel Cernat – representing the American Chamber of Commerce in Romania (AmCham)
8. Marius Constantin Popa – representing the Association of the Society of Mountain Guides and Leaders of Romania (SGLM)
9. Ruxandra Stoica – representing the National Council of Small and Medium-sized Private Enterprises in Romania (CNIPMMR)
About the Tourism Advisory Council (TAC)
The Tourism Consultative Council (CCT) is a national organizational structure, both public and private, without legal personality, within the Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Tourism. It is composed of: professional associations and employers' organizations active in the field of tourism, associative structures from the sphere of local public administration authorities with responsibilities in the field of tourism.
The Tourism Advisory Council was organized based on Order no. 681/2023, issued on May 2, 2023. The duties of the Tourism Advisory Council are: a) Propose programs to ensure the increase in the competitiveness of the tourism offer in Romania b) Initiate actions that lead to the growth and diversification of tourism products; c) Analyze current problems of tourism activities and propose solutions to solve them; d) Recommend amendments to the legislative framework in the field of tourism in order to improve tourism activity and increase the number of tourists; e) Support the development of activities to promote specialized services and assistance for economic operators in tourism; f) Monitor the progress, results and impact of the implementation of measures, instruments and mechanisms to support and promote tourism with funding from the state budget, included in the Annual Tourism Marketing and Promotion Program, in the Tourism Product Development Program, as well as in the Master Plan for the Development of National Tourism.
