FIHR working groups play a key role within the organization, focusing on specific policy areas. Each group meets at least once a month and is dedicated to a specific area, drawing on the expertise of several representatives from FIHR members. The meetings are prepared and moderated by the FIHR executive team.

Legal & Taxation

  1. Local authorities: Operating authorization without expiration date – Law 310/2024; Hotel parking lots (OUG150/2024); Reduction in the amount of the special tourism promotion tax in Bucharest (HCGB)
  2. National legislation: Postponement of e-transport, e-VAT sanctions deadlines; Modification of ORDA methodologies – ongoing litigation; Implementation of RetuRO; Reporting non-EU tourists
  3. European legislation: VAT in the digital age – agreement within ECOFIN – pending approval by the EU Council; Smoke-free environment – recommendation adopted; Traineeships Directive – pending adoption

  4. Open Day & Education Day (over 2,400 participating students, approx. 100 locations, 35 cities). Participation in the opening of the academic year (ASE, USAMV, etc.)
Fairs and Promotion

  1. International promotion: Participation in international fairs (Berlin, London, Warsaw), with free participation for FIHR members; Infotrips support for travel agents or influencers
