FIHR - Partner of the Worldskills Tourism and Hospitality Competition

In period February 12-14, 2026, the Association of Tourism Teachers and Mentors "Edu4Tourism" and the WorldSkills Romania Foundation together with the National Center for the Development of Vocational and Technical Education, the Federation of the Romanian Hotel Industry, the National Center for Tourism Education - CNIT, Hilton Garden Inn Bucharest Airport Hotel organize a the fourth edition of the WorldSkills Tourism and Hospitality competition.

The competition is aimed at high school students and aims to increase the attractiveness and visibility of jobs in the tourism and hospitality industry.

The fourth edition will be the basis for the selection of Romania's training group for the international WorldSkills competition in the "Hotel Reception" section. The selected students will be intensively trained through a WorldSkills program for participation in the international phase in Aichi, Japan (November 2028), which will be attended by over 1,700 competitors from over 65 countries and regions and 300,000 visitors.
The jury, made up of representatives from industry and academia, will evaluate based on the international WorldSkills methodology. During the awards ceremony that will take place on Saturday, February 14, at the CNIT stage of the Romanian Tourism Fair, prizes will be awarded in the 3 sections and participation prizes.

The event will be publicized through WorldSkills, specialized press, TV and social media.

In the field of Hotel Reception, Romania participated for the first time in the world competition in France, Lyon, in September 2024, and in September 2025, at the European EuroSkills competition in Denmark, Herning, it obtained the medal of excellence through the team formed by student Albert Iacoviță and WorldSkills expert Prof. Larisa Ile.
