This week, FIHR participated, together with representatives of the Concordia Confederation, in the meeting with Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu and several members of the Government, to discuss economic reforms, the fiscal framework, and the predictability of government decisions.
✅ We supported the importance of implementing a system through which taxes are collected directly from online platforms that mediate accommodation services.
✅ We emphasized the need for coherence and coordination between control authorities, proportionate sanctions, and the digitalization of processes for a more balanced economic environment.
✅ We reiterated that a unified technical regulation is necessary for all operators offering accommodation services, so as to ensure fiscal fairness and equal standards.
We believe that, through such meetings that allow for direct dialogue and partnership with decision-makers, we can overcome challenges in the industry, which will lead to economic stability and the evolution of the tourism sector.
