During the period February 02-03, 2023, WorldSkills Foundation Romania in partnership with Association of Tourism Teachers and Mentors "Edu4Tourism", Courtyard by Marriott Bucharest Floreasca Hotel and the Romanian Hotel Industry Federation, organizes the second edition of Competitions  WorldSkills Hotel Reception & Housekeeping.

The competition is aimed at high school students and aims to increase the attractiveness and visibility of jobs in the hospitality industry.

The first edition of this Olympiad took place in May 2023 and was intended for students from Bucharest. The second edition (February 2-3, 2024) will have a national expansion and will be the basis for selection for Romania's training group for the "Hotel Receptionist" competition. Selected students will be intensively trained through a WorldSkills program in a specialized training center in the EU for participation in the international phase in Lyon (September 2024) which will be attended by over 1500 competitors and over 65 countries and regions (https://worldskills2024.com/en/home-page/).

We aim to encourage the participation of as many young people as possible in this contest, to help them be confident that the tourism industry is with them and supports them in choosing a career in this field.

The jury, made up of representatives from industry and academia, coordinated by a WorldSkills expert, will award the Grand Prize for "Best housekeeper student" and for "Best student hotel receptionist".
