The hospitality sector handles large volumes of drinks and packaging, representing almost 20 % of Europe's recycling potential, meaning hotels, restaurants, bars and cafes can have a significant impact in reducing the contamination of glass with ceramics or porcelain — factors that reduce the quality of recycling.
FIHR, as a HOTREC member, supports the responsible collection and recycling of glass in the HORECA sector, while supporting the European circular economy.
🎬 The HOTREC campaign also includes a short inspirational video, "The Sound of Glass", with the simple message: "Glass and ceramics share the same table, not the same trash can."
By training staff and implementing simple and effective practices, HORECA units can:
